Gelvenor helps change the nation
Social responsibility has always been at the forefront of Gelvenor’s way of doing business. They are constantly seeking ways in which to help enrich the local community, and their most recent humanitarian initiative saw the company assisting Nation Changers, a social outreach organisation run through the City Hill Church in Hillcrest.
Gelvenor Textiles donated 262 unbranded blazers and 60 pairs of formal trousers to Nation Changers to be distributed to pupils who are most in need at Khabazela High School in Embo. Some of these garments will also be given to a group of about 30 entrepreneurs who sell clothing on the streets of impoverished communities in the Valley of 1000 Hills area.
With the numbers of unemployed people rising, Nation Changers are delighted to be able to supply these garments to families who are in desperate need of basic clothing. It gives the Gelvenor Textiles management team great pleasure to be able to assist in this worthy cause, and they look forward to further outreach programmes in the future.
